SPANISH TOURIST QUALITY SYSTEM – Q REGULATIONS

The SCTE – Spanish Tourism Quality System – certifies the services, the facilities and the management of the Spanish tourist companies. This is a voluntary certification that indicates businesses’ commitment to implementing improvements in the quality of their products and services.

The SCTE is a series of specific rules for each sector. It is flexible, open, self-regulated and voluntary.

The Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE) is the private and independent Spanish body that certifies these Quality Systems.

THE TOURISM QUALITY MARK

The Q mark is the most visible element of the whole system with the general name of 'Spanish Tourism Quality ', and is common to any activity related to tourist services or products. The ICTE exclusively administers and manages this quality mark, issuing the corresponding updates for their use and ensuring adequate use.

The Q Quality Mark complies with a set of characteristics which offer prestige, distinction, reliability and rigour to certified tourist establishments.

• PRESTIGIOUS: The Mark shows the commitment of the certified establishment to achieving full customer satisfaction, covering their needs, exceeding their expectations, and offering excellent service.

• DISTINGUISHED: The Mark can only be achieved by establishments assuring quality standards established by the Service Quality Regulation.

• RELIABLE: Because the mechanisms used to assess compliance with the requirements of the Regulations are independent of the sector itself and are designed in accordance with intersector regulations.

• RIGOROUS: Because in order to gain this recognition, it is necessary to pass objective tests established in the Regulations and Standards.

• PROMOTION: by the administrations for consumers. The Spanish Tourist Quality Mark, with over 2,000 establishments certified with the corresponding stamp, is beginning to be recognised nationally and internationally. This recognition, both on the part of national consumers and by issuing operators and consumers, is a primary objective offering positive results.
