In honour of San Antonio Abad, one of the most acclaimed festivals of Benicàssim starts on 17 January, with its procession, the offering to the saint and the float parade, accompanied by the distribution of “coquetes” (traditional blessed cake) and evening bonfires.
The procession to the Hermitage of Santa Águeda is held on 5 February to remind us that it was here where the townspeople of Benicàssim received the Town Charter.
Easter brings together several confraternities, and involves processions, drumming, the Holy Thursday festivities, and so on.
On the day of Corpus Christi, the streets where the Eucharistic procession passes are carpeted with real flowers.
The mythical magical night of 23 June . There will be shows, fireworks, traditional dances, typical sweets and muscatel wine. This night has been made popular by the tradition of going to the beach at midnight to wet your feet, light bonfires and make wishes. It is the prelude to another hot summer.
Festival of Santo Tomás de Villanueva (week of 22 September). There will be fairs, bull runs, calves, “fire” bulls and fireworks presided over by the senior and junior Festival Queen and their Courts of Honour.
Other significant popular events are the Procession to the Cross of el Monte Bartolo (October/November).
This is one of the most long-awaited, best attended events of the Festival of San Antonio Abad and Santa Águeda.
This day, with over 26 years of tradition, turns Benicàssim into a culinary benchmark of the typical dish from Valencia, the paella.

The main streets of the town are lined with residents, tourists, and visitors who cook and taste their own paellas. More than 800 paellas were made during the last edition.

The singularity of the event, which brings together tradition, cuisine, fiesta and popular participation, has gained “El Día de las Paellas de Benicàssim” the Declaration of Fiesta of Provincial Tourist Interest.
